New families are always welcome at Meg's Toy Box. If you are a parent, grandparent or carer of young children you can access a wide range of quality toys for an affordable price. Have a look below for an outline of our fees.
Because our toy library needs volunteers to operate, we do ask all members to give back some of their time and help out during the year. This means we can keep membership fees low and still provide great quality toys to our community. We know all families are different so we have plenty of options to suit busy schedules. Find out more about our volunteering options here or speak to a shift volunteer when you visit.
Our fees
Annual membership fee: $20
New member deposit: $30 (refundable upon membership ending provided all toys have been returned in good condition)
Weekly hire fees: 50cents to $6 per toy. Weekly hire fees are waived for two weeks every time you volunteer for a shift. You can borrow up to 4 toys at a time with one of these being a 'big' toy if you choose. More information on borrowing is included in our membership agreement.
If your personal finances are tight, we are very happy to negotiate a reduced membership and deposit. Please speak to one of our shift volunteers or email megstoybox@gmail.com
How to join
We will ask you to complete a membership form when you visit us. The preferred payment method for fees is EFTPOS, although we do accept cash payments. When you arrive at the toy library, please say hello to one of our friendly volunteers. They will help you with your application, give you a tour of our spaces and answer any questions you have.
