St Margaret's Uniting Church has been instrumental in the establishment and continued operation of Meg's Toy Box since the toy library opened in 1991.
In the late 1980s, a small group of parents from the St Margaret's community saw a need for a service to provide access to a variety of toys at low cost. With the help of the Uniting Church, and St Margaret’s in particular, they were able to start up a toy library to serve families in Canberra.
Meg's Toy Box has been growing and thriving ever since.
Today, Meg's Toy Box provides access to over 900 toys to over 100 members from the Canberra region.
We are committed to providing high quality toys which encourage child development through play-based learning. Find out more about our toys here.
Our toy library is run by a committee of members and a paid administrator with support from the St Margaret's board. We also have a strong volunteer base that enable the toy library to be open through the week.
